Superintendent's Update

Mr Chance Nix PictureDear Parents and Students,

Sometimes I hear people say, “If you don’t like the weather in North Georgia, just stick around because it will change”. That’s one of the things I love about living in Catoosa County, we get to experience all 4 seasons. But somehow, even though I’m excited when each season arrives, I’m also ready when they change.

April is all about change and growth. It can serve as a reminder that the more we learn, the more we grow. When our girls were little, each April, Heather and I would take them out into the yard and plant flowers and shrubs with them. They loved getting their little hands dirty playing in the dirt and watering flowers. Then, we would watch them all Summer and talk about how much they were growing.

At CCPS, we hold steadfast to the belief that education is not merely about acquiring knowledge; it is about nurturing the seeds of curiosity, cultivating the soil of understanding, and witnessing the changes in our student's personal and academic growth.

At CCPS, our faculty models lifelong learning for our students so they see that learning is not just for the classroom, it’s for life! They see that no matter how old they get, they will never, ever stop learning and growing. That’s education for life, learning to overcome challenges, discovering new ideas, and becoming the best versions of ourselves.

As parents, you play the most crucial role in nurturing this mindset of learning and growing within your child. You are the most important voice in your kid's life. In many ways, the schoolhouse really just supports what you’re teaching at your house. It’s so true that the parent is the child’s first teacher. Your daily encouragement and belief in the limitless potential of your child sets them up for success in the classroom and beyond!

Together, we can leverage the opportunities that this season of growth presents.
In the words of an old proverb, "The more we learn, the more we know, and the more we know, the more we grow." Thank you for your unwavering dedication and support as we partner together to ensure our students have the best schools, teachers, and opportunities to prepare them for an amazing future. Together, we will cultivate a love for learning and a future filled with endless possibilities and growth in every student!
