The Catoosa County Leadership Academy is an eighteen month program designed to give emerging school leaders the skills and knowledge needed to participate in instructional leadership, school improvement, decision making, and community development. Two cohorts, with a total of 22 participants, have graduated from the Academy since 2011. The program involves monthly workshops, job shadowing, school visits, study groups, and guest speakers. The goals of the program are to develop leaders who have the knowledge and ability to promote the success of all students and to provide a support structure for the leaders through coaching/mentoring, networking with other leaders, and learning from accomplished leaders and scholars.

Superintendent Reese said, “I am so proud of these graduates. They expressed an interest in school leadership and committed a huge amount of time to prepare for a leadership position. These folks are already leaders in their current positions in their schools, and I am glad they took the ‘next step’ to prepare for a position in school administration.”
