Two Heritage High School Band Seniors, Vitaliy Popovych and Sean Kwak, have been selected as members of the 2016 United States Army All-American Band. The band features 125 of the top marching band members from across the United States. The band performs at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Game which is held in San Antonio, TX. During bowl week, the band members receive instruction from top collegiate, high school and drum and bugle corps instructors from across the country as well as educational sessions with members of the U.S. Army Field Band.

Vitaliy Popovych was selected through a video audition to be the drum major of the All-American Band. He was chosen from a group of drum majors from all across the United States. This is the single best honor a high school drum major can receive. Vitaliy was given this commission at the Drum Corps International Championships held earlier this month in Indianapolis, Indiana. We are proud of his accomplishments and look forward to seeing him lead the U.S. Army All-American Band this January.

Sean Kwak was selected to be a member of the trombone section for the band. Sean had the highest audition score of any other trombone player in the country.

These young men will be recognized when the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Selection Tour visits Heritage High on Tuesday, September 29th at 2:00 pm.

We are very proud of these two gentlemen. They will represent Heritage High School, Catoosa County and the State of Georgia very well at this prestigious national event.
