Students from Mrs. Deanna Baker`s and Ms. Mary Ann Bruce`s classes presented letters of appreciation to Lieutenant Fuqua and 1st Sargent King

On November 11, 2016, students at Ringgold Elementary School showed their patriotism and appreciation of America's veterans by wearing red, white, and blue. Some classes had veterans visit to speak of their experiences, answer questions, and share the good that veterans have done and continue to do. 1st Sargeant Joel King and Lieutenant Phillip Fuqua were two of the soldiers who spoke to fourth graders. They shared personal stories, information regarding their jobs, the differences among branches of service, and the wonderful things veterans do to protect and serve. King encouraged students to "Be the Good" and stressed that anyone can make a difference and do good in the world, not just those serving in the military. Students in Mrs. Deanna Baker's classes had written letters for the visitors. Proud children presented both soldiers their letters of gratitude to read and share with fellow veterans. On behalf of the entire Ringgold Elementary family, we say, "Thank you!" to our veterans.
