Using ESPLOST V pennies, Catoosa County Public Schools completed the Let’s Get CONNECTed technology initiative this summer. When students started school on August 10, every student in every school had a digital device. PreK through second grade students have iPads and third through eighth grade students have Chromebooks to use at school. High school students have Chromebooks to use at school and at home. Superintendent Denia Reese said, “To prepare our students for college and the workplace, we must teach students to use technology productively and collaboratively. Our students can CONNECT with their teachers, students in their school, and other people around the world. We have transformed our classrooms and teaching strategies to prepare a technological generation for a rapidly changing economy that is digital and global.”

As the new school year begins, we are inviting parents and the community to CONNECT with us through the Catoosa County Public Schools app. The district app gives users access to news, resources, directory, child nutrition information, Infinite Campus Parent Portal, school websites, and a district phone directory. Another important feature is the alert system. The system will use the alert feature to notify parents of important information, such as school closings.

Superintendent Reese said, “I don’t think any of us leave home without a smartphone. Communication is very important to us, so we want to take advantage of every opportunity to stay CONNECTed with parents and the community.”

The app can be downloaded free from iTunes or Google Play by searching “High Ground Solutions,” then scroll to the Catoosa County Public Schools app.
