| Sarah Savor signed a music scholarship to Lee University at a ceremony in the media center on May 15th. Sarah is a member of the Legion Of Generals Marching Band and a trumpet player. Hannah Grant Signs Cheerleading Scholarship to Georgia State |

| Hannah Grant signed a cheerleading scholarship to Georgia State in a ceremony at HHS on May 17th. Several of Hannah's friends demonstrated the cheerleading techniques that Hannah will learn as a cheerleader for Georgia State, cheering at home in the Georgia Dome next season. Tammy Gibson Chosen as Teacher of the Year |

The faculty and administration of Heritage High School is proud to announce that Tammy Gibson has been chosen as the 2012-13 Heritage High School Teacher of the Year. She is a special education math teacher who is devoted to her students and respected by the staff. She has presented to the State Board of Education on successful math instructional strategies. The Teacher of the Year was announced at Heritage High School by members of the band playing the Heritage Fight Song in the hallway outside of Mrs. Gibson's classroom. NEW |

Deadlines are coming up to order a 2011-12 yearbook. No personalized yearbook orders may ordered after May 21 and ordering capability stops completely after May 26th. The books will be available the first week of school in September. There will be few, if any extras. Students who do not order a yearbook will not be able to purchase a yearbook.  The summer reading list for 2012-13 is ready to go! Students who signed up for AP or Honors English are required to read the books on this list before school begins in September, 2012. Click here (heritage high school summer reading list 2012-13) for a copy of the required summer reading list for students in honors and AP English classes.
English teachers have also created a recommended reading list for parents and students to use. Reading these books is not required, but choosing a few selections for summer reading will be enjoyable, educational, and enlightening. If you enjoyed the Legion of Generals Marching Band's 2008 show Celebration, 2009's Planes, Trains & Automobiles, 2010's Freedom, and 2011's Applachain Journey, then you will be blown away by the upcoming show for 2012 entitled Hero. Band members will spend the summer working on this spectacular marching show, and you can enjoy this show on Friday nights in the Fall on Jeff Sims Field. The Hero logo was desiged by Junior Matthew Clark in Graphic Arts class (better known as the creator/organizer of the popluar lunch game "Spoon Assassins"). |

Heritage Students "Light Up the Night" at Prom |

Heritage High School's 4th annual Junior/Senior Prom was held at the Chattanooga Trade & Convention Center on April 12, 2012. The theme this year was "Light Up the Night" and the Generals certainly did that! It was an incredible night and you can view pics from the evening by visiting the photo gallery (click on the pic to visit the gallery). Hayley Shaw was selected as Prom Queen and Eric Johnson was selected as Prom King (pictured below). Special thanks to the faculty and staff who worked so hard on planning, organizing the prom as well as all of the chaperones!

Homework Lab Open Mondays and Wednesdays |
 |
A new Homework Lab is now open every Monday and Wednesday in the morning from 7:00 am to 8:00 am and afternoon from 3:45 pm to 4:45 pm. The Lab is located in the media center and is run by a math teacher and student member of the Beta Club. Tutors are available to help with homework, projects, or just to study for tests. No appointments are necessary! |
