July 10th Update

Catoosa County Public Schools (CCPS) is making plans for a safe return to the important work of teaching and learning for students and employees for the 2020-2021 school year. We want parents, teachers, and employees to be confident that safety is our highest priority as we return to school. CCPS leaders are considering survey input from parents and teachers and studying guidance from the Department of Public Health and the Georgia Department of Education in planning for the safest, most effective opening of school this fall.

I will participate in a conference call with Governor Kemp on Monday, and we will have a #OPENSCHOOL Task Force meeting on Monday afternoon with school principals. Principals will then meet with teachers and school governance teams that include parents to receive input. I anticipate that we will announce our reopening plan at the end of next week.
