A Huge Round of Applause for our Finance Team!
We're thrilled to announce that our district has once again demonstrated exceptional financial management! A massive shoutout goes to Director Austin Carter and the entire Finance Team for their outstanding work in successfully completing our annual financial audit.
This rigorous process, which demands months preparation and execution, has yielded remarkable results. We are incredibly proud to share that CCPS has been rated as LOW RISK with NO FINDINGS, once again! This accomplishment underscores our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of financial transparency and accountability.
This designation highlights the great work of the team and shows that CCPS continues to uphold the highest standards of financial transparency and accountability. This in-depth process takes months to complete, and the outcome reflects the dedication and expertise of our finance professionals.
Additionally, we would like to recognize our CCPS Bookkeepers, who have completed the UGA Certificate Program through the Carl Vinson Institute of Government. Special congratulations to the Catoosa County Public Schools Bookkeeper Cohort graduates!

For context, the Georgia Department of Audits & Accounts (DOAA) is considered the gold standard for audits in Georgia. They play a crucial role in ensuring transparency and accountability in government spending, auditing everything from the state budget to local governments. Even though some organizations like CCPS pay for additional private audits, the DOAA is legally required to review and audit those audits as well, further reinforcing their credibility in financial management.
Director Carter and the CCPS Finance Team will be recognized at the April 8th BOE meeting at 6:00 pm. Let’s all take a moment to congratulate everyone involved in this achievement!
