Catoosa County Public Schools is proud to announce that Anderson Sasada, a senior at Heritage High School, has been recognized as a 2025 Georgia Scholar by the Georgia Department of Education. This prestigious honor is awarded to graduating seniors who have demonstrated excellence in both their academic pursuits and community involvement.
To be named a Georgia Scholar, students must meet rigorous criteria, including maintaining a non-weighted, cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.75 on a 4.0 scale in core courses. Additionally, candidates must exhibit excellence in school and community life.
Anderson's dedication to academic achievement and his active participation in extracurricular and community activities exemplify the qualities celebrated by the Georgia Scholar program.
At the May board meeting, Principal Matthew Phillips recognized Anderson Sasada and highlighted that only 145 graduating seniors across Georgia received the 2025 Georgia Scholar distinction, as awarded by State School Superintendent Richard Woods. This elite recognition honors students who consistently go above and beyond—not only in academics but also through leadership, service, and commitment to their communities.
