School Improvement and Professional Learning

School Improvement

CCPS School Improvement department is the home of curriculum and instruction and professional learning programs. The goal of School Improvement is to uphold and enhance the efforts in all schools to increase student achievement by supporting quality teaching through the implementation of the curriculum standards and research-based practices. Schools are provided with the tools and resources to facilitate yearly academic progress.

The School Improvement department utilizes the GaDOE School Improvement Process to assist all schools with developing, implementing, and monitoring school improvement plans. Furthermore, it provides and supports ongoing professional learning which is supported through site-based professional learning communities (PLCs) to build the capacity of all staff - administrators, teachers, paraprofessionals, and other system employees-with the goal of improving student achievement at all levels.
