OPENING AUGUST 2023

I am so excited to open the From HERE to CAREER Academy in August! ENROLLMENT CURRENTLY OPEN for juniors and seniors from all three high schools to participate in this opportunity to graduate College Ready, Career Ready, and Life Ready.

The Academy pathways are targeted to prepare students for high demand careers in our region, including Criminal Justice and Public Safety; Construction; Logistics and Supply Chain Management; Teaching as a Profession; Health Science/Pre-Nursing; Welding and Machine Tool Technology; Information Technology and Cybersecurity; Engineering, Robotics, and Mechatronics. Most of the Academy pathways will be offered as dual enrollment, so students can earn college credit and industry recognized certifications. Additionally, in partnership with Dalton State College, the Academy will offer academic dual enrollment. The great feature of high school dual enrollment is the opportunity to earn 30 hours of college credit FREE.

In addition to academics, From HERE to CAREER Academy students will participate in a weekly professional skills development class to learn the “durable skills” students need to be successful in life.

Students will have the opportunity for internships and apprenticeships, they will prepare a resume, participate in mock-interviews, and we will help students arrange interviews with employers in our area if they want to enter the workforce after graduation..

This is an outstanding opportunity for students, but classes are filling quickly. You may contact your child’s counselor for additional information or scan one of the QR codes to sign up for additional information or pre-register your child.

I look forward to welcoming students, businesses, and the community to visit the From HERE to CAREER Academy in August.
