Parent Mentor

We are happy to welcome Virginia Piper as our Parent Mentor.

The parent mentor is a mom or dad of one or more children with special learning and/or physical disabilities. The parent mentor works with the school system to develop partnerships between home and school. The ultimate responsibility of the parent mentor is to support parents with children receiving special education services. The parent mentor provides parents with information on various disabilities, attends IEP meetings as needed, helps locate community resources, and encourages parents to take an active role in their child's education.
